When was MSDUK founded?

MSDUK was founded in 2006 with a mission to build the UK's leading organisation for inclusive procurement. To date, MSDUK has supported over 5000 businesses and dozens of corporate and large public sector bodies committed to inclusive procurement.

What does MSDUK do?

MSDUK champions inclusive procurement across the UK. We connect SMEs with corporate and public sector buyers, certify ethnic minority-owned businesses, run programmes that develop supplier capability, and work alongside corporate members to build more inclusive and resilient supply chains.

For more than 20 years, MSDUK has supported 5000+ businesses and dozens of corporate members through certification, events, mentoring and training.

Is MSDUK a charity?

MSDUK is a not-for-profit organisation, not a registered charity. It trades as Minority Supplier Development UK, registered in England under company number 5882418 with VAT number 892081118.

Who can join MSDUK?

MSDUK is an inclusive advocacy body with several membership tiers to support a variety of organisations. Any UK-based SME can join as a self-registered member, while ethnic minority-owned SMEs can benefit from full membership that includes certification. Corporate businesses and public sector bodies are invited to join under a corporate membership tier; and we welcome universities, accelerators, advocacy groups and policy makers as our partners.

Is MSDUK affiliated with other organisations globally?

Yes. MSDUK is part of a global ecosystem of supplier support councils, including affiliate organisations in the USA, Australia, Canada, China and South Africa. These partnerships help connect UK businesses to international procurement opportunities.

Can I access information about other members of MSDUK community?

Certified members can connect with our large network of businesses from all over the UK for your own supply chain fulfilment. To access the SME Supplier Database, please login to your Dashboard on the MSDUK portal and search for businesses that match your needs.

How do I register as supplier?

On the home page of the MSDUK website (https://www.msduk.org.uk/), click on “Join Today” and you will be redirected to MSDUK supplier portal where you can join the network and register as a supplier.

How to download Certificate of Membership?

The membership certificate is available for businesses to download in your company's profile page.

I do not have an audited turnover certificate for the previous year, what should I upload?

You can provide Projected Earnings instead.

What are the MSDUK certification eligibility criteria?

To be eligible for MSDUK certification, applicants must meet all Certification Criteria listed below:

When will I have to renew my certified membership?

MSDUK certified membership needs to be renewed annually for your certification to be valid. A renewal email will be sent to the key contact for your business every week for a month before the membership expires.

When will I have to review my self-registered membership?

We will contact you annually by email to confirm whether you wish to remain a self-registered member of the network. If you no longer wish to be part of MSDUK, please let us know, and we will remove your company details from our Supplier Database.
