Solution One, specialists in commercial cleaning, construction, and security services across the North West, began working with ISS in 2023.
Georgie Mannakee, ISS UK Senior Manager, Responsible Procurement, explains: “Working with our procurement category manager, Solution One was identified as a business able to address a gap in our current provision. We onboarded them for a trial with one of our banking clients, which proved highly successful. Since then, they’ve delivered services to four ISS customers in 2025 alone and have now been appointed a preferred supplier.”
Founded by Joanne Robinson, a single mother of three who transitioned from a career in social work, Solution One began as a small window cleaning business. Over the past eight years, it has grown into a national provider, delivering specialist cleaning services to clients across facilities management, healthcare, education, commercial, and construction sectors.
What sets Solution One apart is its deep-rooted commitment to social value. Through its in-house initiative, the company supports seven UK-based charities, provides training and mentoring, and creates real job opportunities for the long-term unemployed. By partnering with local councils, job centres, and community groups, Solution One helps individuals facing barriers to employment find a path forward.
