Solaris is an Executive Leadership Development programme targeted at the black executive and professional woman in organisation. The intention and passion behind Solaris is to support organisations and businesses in the shattering of the black glass ceiling that exists, enabling them to demonstrate that there is definitive action behind the rhetoric and talk.
The key to positive change lies in the hands of organisation and business and in the decisions that the leaders and gatekeepers in them make that impact their people.
In spite of organisations signing various race charters, speaking out in 2020 and making bold statements about the intention to change, the face of organisational leadership still does not look different.
• Only 1.5% of senior positions in UK businesses are held by black people
• Black women today still face a double burden of racism and sexism to reach the top
The programme is global and aims to shatter the black glass ceiling by providing a vehicle through which black women leaders and professionals from organisations across a variety of industries can be empowered to advance into senior management, the c-suite and to board level.
The one-year programme develops the confidence, resilience and skills required to achieve career targets, personal and professional goals, as well as building a strong professional network for black women.
Organisations in return will be supported through this programme in helping to tackle the inequality at management, CEO and board level, become more inclusive at every level and generate a strong internal talent pool of black women.
Solaris has internationally renowned speakers, mentoring and mastermind sessions. Its diverse range of speakers includes directors and professors from some of the world’s foremost business schools and universities – including London Business School, University of London and University of Michigan.
Launching in April 2021, the programme includes:
Solaris is championed by executive search consultancy Sapphire Partners – recognised by the UK Government’s Department of Business, Innovation & Skills for their work promoting women non-executives and leading the way in ensuring more diverse candidates are promoted and hired.
