Europe’s leading B2B platform sponsors digital event series for EMBs
As part of its ongoing commitment to build an inclusive and diverse supply chain, Mercateo Unite has joined forces with Minority Supplier Development UK (MSDUK).
Europe’s powerful B2B platform is now a corporate member and sponsors MSDUK’s digital event series, which aims to enhance the business acumen of ethnic minority–owned businesses (EMBs) across the country.
Mercateo Unite is growing its digital hub, the Unite Network, and plans to tap into MSDUK’s impressive group of over 3,000 suppliers in 40 different industry sectors. This proactive partnership will see Mercateo Unite building its supplier offering and introducing new EMBs to MSDUK.
On the Unite Network, buyers can search for and connect with new suppliers, invite their existing suppliers, and activate catalogues for mutual benefit. It aims to facilitate better supply–demand matching, drive supply chain innovation, and ensure a better future for sustainable business.
Simon Roberts, managing director at Mercateo Unite, UK, said: “We’ve seen marketplaces that offer little choice to buyers and marginalise small and medium-sized suppliers, including EMBs, leaving them without ways to connect and collaborate. With Unite, we’re putting supplier diversity front and centre, making it easier for underrepresented businesses to thrive.
“We’re proud to become a MSDUK corporate member as part of our efforts to redress the balance and bring greater diversity to supply chains across Europe.”
Thanks to MSDUK’s Supplier Diversity Benchmarking tool, Mercateo Unite will be able to assess the progress made by its practices. Membership also means the opportunity to engage with other corporate members and connect with the most innovative EMBs in the UK.
Mayank Shah, founder and CEO at MSDUK, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mercateo Unite to our growing network of corporate members committed to driving economic inclusion through their supplier diversity programmes. We look forward to working closely with the Mercateo Unite team to open up multiple supply chain opportunities for ethnic minority businesses from across the UK.”
“In a world where we see growing socio-economic inequality, a real commitment to supplier diversity enables companies to encourage entrepreneurship in underserved underrepresented communities,” Shah added. “This in-turn results in creating jobs, wealth, better health, and education in those disadvantaged communities. And a more diverse supply chain impacts the bottom line through innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability. Let supplier diversity take centre stage in driving economic inclusion.”
