After a full day of pitches from Innovation Challenge entrants our judges narrowed down our semi-finalists to 13 finalists. Their innovations cover an enormous spectrum of sectors ranging from space technology to portable dishwashers.

This years applicants are based across the UK including Manchester, Leicester, London, Edinburgh, Strathclyde and Hatfield. In addition, a respectable 31% are female founders.

Our finalists also come from a wide spread of ethnic backgrounds. These include Pakistani, Indian, Caribbean, African, Chinese and Asian.

Mayank Shah, Founder & CEO of MSDUK said, “The fact that we have 13 finalists rather than 12 is testament to the sheer diversity of applications for this year’s Innovation Challenge, as well as to the quality of the pitches and incredible ideas”.

“It was a very tough day for our judges and again demonstrates the wealth of innovative ideas we have here in the UK within the Ethnic Minority-owned Business community.  Our finalists are certainly living proof of our Challenge theme this year ‘Better Ideas for a Better World’.”
