As part of their Sustainable Supply Chain agenda, EDF Energy want to further encourage and embed diversity and inclusion in their Supply Chain and one of the ways they intend to do is by creating further awareness across their organisation.
To help support this their Supply Chain D&I Action Group (DIAG) will be uploading short introductory blogs of MSDUK members to their Supply Chain DIAG yammer profile which will be shared with internal stakeholders to help emphasise the positive impact of working with diverse suppliers.
Cultural celebrations were laid on at six sites last month to encourage employees to find out more about Ramadan.
The lunchtime sessions were organised by EDF Energy’s BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) Network as part of a calendar of events to raise awareness of the richness of cultural diversity among employees. Previous events focused on the ancient Hindu “festival of light” Diwali, Chinese New Year and Easter. The purpose of the celebrations was to inform our employees what happens during Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.
Speakers shared information on health, well-being and the challenges of fasting and explained the cultural celebration of Eid. Traditional food was also provided on the day.
Tender award to MSDUK member
Last year, EDF Energy’s Internal Communications department decided to appoint a number of preferred suppliers to provide EDF Energy with video production services.
A dozen agencies were approached and a tender was released in February 2017. An MSDUK member, AdTube Limited, was invited to demonstrate its capabilities and submit a bid in the frame of that tender process. AdTube were shortlisted and eventually awarded a contract together with three other agencies. A two year (plus a potential two years extension) framework agreement was awarded to deliver video designing, filming, editing and producing services.
The contract was signed off in June 2017 and we are now looking forward to working together with AdTube.
