Pepsico
Garry Glancy Garry Clancy, PepsiCo UK

Chair of Minority Supplier Development UK Board of Directors

Garry joined PepsiCo in 1997 and has recently moved into his new role as Commercial Director, New Business Development and Activation. Before this he was Purchasing Director for PepsiCo UK/Europe/MEA based in Switzerland. He has extensive procurement experiences across raw materials, commodities, contract manufacturing, marketing and professional services. Garry is also a member of Walkers Snack Foods Operating Board. Before joining PepsiCo, he worked for Exxon for nine years, both in the UK and US, across sales, supply chain and product training. Garry has a degree in Production Engineering and Management. He is married, with one daughter and lives in West Berkshire.

Daryl Scales

Daryl Scales, Enterprise Rent-a-Car

Daryl joined Enterprise Rent-a-Car in 1986 as a Group Auditor in the corporate office based in St Louis, USA. In 1988, Daryl opened Enterprise’s operation in New York as a Regional Controller. In 1994, he returned to the Corporate Office as a Corporate Business Manager. As a Corporate Business Manager Daryl not only worked with all the Business Managers in a specific territory within the US, but was also responsible for project management for a number of information systems initiatives as well as overseeing other new corporate initiatives and their successful roll-out to the company’s 100 plus divisions.

Daryl was promoted to Assistant Vice President-Business Management in 1996. Daryl is one of the original Enterprise employees who relocated to London to open Enterprise’s first UK office in September 1997. In February 2005, Daryl was promoted to Vice President - Finance, UK/Ireland.

A native of St Louis, Missouri, Daryl received a Bachelors of Science degree in accountancy from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984.

Joseph Hill

Joseph Hill, Bank of America

Joe joined Bank of America in 1985, holding several senior management roles within the Commercial and Small Business banks before moving into Supply Chain Management. In his current role as Global Strategic Sourcing executive, Joe is responsible for Bank of America’s international supply chain initiatives and activities, diverse supplier development, as well as revenue generation.

Joe has a degree in business administration and attended the executive MBA program at Queens College in Charlotte, NC. Joe is also Six Sigma green belt certified.

 
Exxon Mobil
Malcolm Platt

Malcolm Platt, ExxonMobil

Malcolm joined ExxonMobil in 1975 working in different roles within Logistics and Controllers management, before moving to Procurement ten years ago as Procurement Manager for the UK. Subsequently, Malcolm was Procurement Services Manager for Europe, Africa and Middle East for six years before moving to the current role of Manager, Global Business Practices in Global Procurement.

Malcolm has an MBA and two accountancy qualifications, FCCA, ACMA.

Malcolm is married with four boys and lives in Northamptonshire.

 
FHM
Martin Smithurst

Martin Smithurst, FHM

Martin joined FHM (part of the Keepmoat group of companies) in 1990 and, through various internal promotions, progressed to the position of Commercial Director in 2001.

In his role, Martin leads all commercial functions with the £85 - £95 million turnover business including estimating, quantity surveying, HR and purchasing.

He also has specific responsibility for the development of subcontract supply chains to support the delivery of long term regionalised housing investment programmes. Examples include regeneration schemes in Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and Kirklees.

In addition to being a member of both Chartered Institute of Building and the Institute of Directors, Martin also holds degrees in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying.

Martin lives in Yorkshire with his wife and two young children.

 
BT
Liz Cross

Liz Cross, BT

Liz Cross is Head of Strategy and Policy on CSR for Procurement at BT.

Liz joined BT in 1980 as a buyer, working in different procurement roles including strategic sourcing, marketing communications, IT and global networks.

More recently Liz changed roles, now responsible for sustainability in procurement across BT, working with global buying teams and Corporate Social Responsibility specialists. She leads on procurement strategy and policy on supplier diversity, climate change, environmental management and labour standards.

Liz worked on the Government Task Force on Sustainable Procurement, representing BT on the Suppliers Working Group.

Liz has a degree in chemistry and is a member of CIPS the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply

 
IBM
Harry Stanton

Harry Stanton, IBM

Harry is the Client Services Procurement Manager for IBM in the UK, Ireland and South Africa.

Harry joined IBM for the second time in 1996, he has worked for IBM for a total of 26 years. He has had a broad range of management roles in IBMSmanufacturing Plants in Scotland and Ireland and in the UK services business.

Prior to his current role in Portsmouth, which Harry took up in 2006, he worked in Ireland for three years running the Supply Chain Operations team in the Server manufacturing facility in the Dublin Campus.

 
Lehman Brothers
Sam Kemp

Sam Kemp, Lehman Brothers

Sam joined Lehman Brothers in 2002 as a manager within Finance and was appointed as European Head of Sourcing in 2004.He has recently moved roles and is now responsible for European IT Operations. In that role, Sam still has close links with the Sourcing function and control of the company's cost base.

Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Sam spent almost ten years at Cooper and Lybrand, latterly PriceWaterhouseCoopers, in London and South Africa where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then worked briefly for the NatWest Group, also in Finance.

Sam particularly provides advice and guidance to the MSDUK Board and Management Team on Membership Development issues.
